ALL COURSES ARE PENDING NY DIVISION OF STATE EMS APPROVAL

CLASSES IN STATEN ISLAND ARE AS FOLLOWS.  

THE FIRST SESSION IS A FULL SATURDAY AND THEN THE COURSE CONTINUES EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY EVENING FROM 7PM-10:30PM.

This program is the revised New York State Department of Health Emergency Medical Technician curriculum, which includes lectures & practical skill sessions, 2025 CPR/AED guidelines, Haz Mat & Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) training.

Training will consist of but is not be limited to:
•    Roles and responsibilities of the EMT
•    Anatomy and physiology
•    Patient assessment
•    Airway management
•    Cardiac emergencies
•    Response to terrorism
•    Bleeding and shock
•    Soft tissue injuries
•    Emergency childbirth
•    Geriatric and pediatric care
•    Ambulance operations
•    Hazardous materials

In addition to classroom time, all students are required to spend 16 hours of clinical observation on an Ambulance or at an emergency room, which will be arranged by the training center.  

This program meets & exceeds the FDNY requirement  for the Civil Service position of EMT & Firefighter.

PREREQUISITES:  Applicants must be Seventeen years old by the end of the course, and be able to read & write in English.  A driver's license is not a requirement, but is encouraged.

SI LOCATION: SIEMT Training Center, 16 Barrett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10302. (cross is Forest to Decker)

TUITION:  The cost of this course is $1800, which is all inclusive.  A non-refundable $200.00 deposit is due upon submission of this application which reserves your seat and covers the enrollment fee. The balance is due on or before the first class session. We accept Zelle, Cash, and Checks.  If you are in need of a payment plan, please contact the Course Sponsor Administrator directly immediatley after registering to discuss ([email protected]) 

A laptop or tablet (not smart phone) is required throughout the course for the reading material, quizzes, and exams.  If a student does not have access to either there will be a mandatory $100 deposit for a tablet.  Upon return of the tablet to SIEMT in the same working condition taken by the student the deposit will be refunded. 

The tuition includes a class ID, key fob, all necessary technology i:e: Google Classroom etc., as well  EMT equipment including the class shirt, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, pocket face mask, oxygen wrench, penlight, and tourniquet as well as all study materials.
